Well done and congratulations to the winners and to everyone who rode.

Margaret would like to thank all the people who helped at the ride and especially Judith Taylor who coordinating all the venue and vet gate helpers.

Margaret at Ludlow

A very big thank you goes to both Margaret and Paul for organising Ludlow over the past few years.  This ride would have stopped long ago if they had not been prepared to take on.

Margaret is standing down this year and Stevie Martin made a special presentation to Margaret by way of thanks for all her hard work.

Dick and Judy Taylor have offered to run the ride next year, pending the agreement of the EGB Rides Committee.

Please see the News page for the latest updates (updated 17/07/10)

Margaret has confirmed that the Saturday classes are DEFIINITELY RUNNING but all classes on Friday 16th and Sunday 18th July are CANCELLED.

There are just not enough entries for this ride to be viable in its three-day format.  Revised information will be sent out this weekend.

Please Note! - this is a National ride (i.e. in the National Schedule in the EGB Handbook and on the Endurance GB website).

It is not a group Social or Training Ride.

Standard EGB ride entry fees apply and Group Associate Members are treated the same as Non-members ( both are classed as temporary day members).

We would like to thank the following Sponsor for their kind contributions towards the 2009 prizes:

CRAZY HORSE - LUDLOW; BUFTONS - LUDLOW; LWC - LEOMINSTER; LUDLOW RACECOURSE; COUNTRYWIDE STORES; WYNSTAY FARMERS; MILE END; KHAZAN; DENGIE; BAILEYS HORSE FEEDS; LUDLOW MOTORS; LAWRENCE MOTORS; IAN JONES TYRES - LUDLOW; WORSHIPFUL COMPANY SADDLERS; SARACEN; GLOBAL HERBS; R C WEAVER.

Routes:

The various routes for the Ride are a mixture of forest tracks, old bridleways and quiet country lanes. All the routes will be very similar to 2009 with all the Vet Gates and mid-point vetting for CRs being out in the forest with horses returning to the racecourse only at the finish.

Please note that the 80km CR on Saturday will have 2 vet holds whilst the 80km CR on Sunday will have ONLY 1 vet hold (VG1 on the map).

Facilities at the venue:

Ludlow racecourse provides us with a fabulous venue, with camping, corralling, stabling all on site – available from Friday 16th to Monday 19th July. Catering will also be provided by Lesley Morgan as usual from Friday, including a meal on Saturday evening for a bargain £5  payable in advance. See ‘venue’ for full details.

There will be a good range of trade stands, providing all the bits and pieces that you forgot to bring with you.  There is a large food store with a café very close to the racecourse.  The popular historic town of Ludlow is a short drive from the venue, where there is a fine range of shops, public houses and restaurants, not to mention a good fish & chip shop.  The castle is also well worth a visit.

Helpers:

Camping is free to those who help on one day. If you are able to help, please let the Ride Organiser know ASAP, earliest volunteers get the best jobs!

Prizes:

There will be lots of trophies and prizes, so please stay for the presentations on Saturday if you can.  We hope you have a pleasant weekend with us and enjoy your riding.

Thanks:

Endurance GB and the Ride Organisers would like to thank Ludlow Racecourse, Forest Enterprises, Kevin Wilkes First Aid, John Evans Radio Team, and all the Officials and Voluntary Helpers without whose Assistance this event would not be possible
